Habitat

American Crocodiles live in large shallow bodies of water like lakes or large rivers. They also live in some small swamps and marshes.

The American Crocodile is found mostly in south and Central America and Florida. Some places you may find them are, Belize, Columbia, Costa Rica, The Dominion Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Hispaniola, Honduras, Jamaica, Peru, and Venezuela.

The American Crocodile’s diet consists of large or medium sized fish, and other aquatic animals such as crabs.

A hatchling might eat some bugs or small fish, and also maybe some small crabs.

Weather

The American Crocodile prefers weather most hot and humid.

 

American Crocodiles are endangered in the U.S. and there are only 500-1200 in Florida.
