When you choose artificial grass to be placed outdoors, you will want a garden that is always green, beautiful, and inviting. Unfortunately, synthetic grass also needs to be treated. You can’t avoid dirt and messy grass forms. If left alone, this problem will cause health problems and be dangerous. So how to properly clean synthetic grass carpet? Check out our explanation:
Many people who do not have time to care for their yards have switched real grass to artificial grass. People avoid watering, mowing, fertilizing, and spraying pests on the weekends. Apart from being time-consuming, they are also costly as well as harmful to health. But even if artificial grass has minimal maintenance, that doesn’t mean it can be left alone.
Okay, let’s start the clean-up with a simple task first. This simple activity can be done every week or once a month.
1. Walk around the park for inspection
Start by inspecting your yard. You are sure to find fallen leaves or other debris. But you still need to surround it to find dirt that might be left there. Like trash or even dirt left by your pet. If you find it, pick it up and throw it away as quickly as possible.
2. Clean up organic debris
Use a broom used for outdoor leaves and clean your yard. Good materials for a broom are those made of metal or bamboo. Because they can bind and pull the leaves on the surface without damaging the artificial turf infill. If available, you can purchase a special synthetic grass broom suitable for Nylon fibers.
After using a broom, you can use a soft brush so that the synthetic grass can be more fluffy and upright. We recommend that you do it every 3 months or sooner if your artificial grass is frequently stepped on.
Apart from a broom, you can also use a power blower or a vacuum cleaner.
3. Flush with water
To clean dust or dirt that is smaller, we recommend that you always flush with water once a month. Make sure that at the time of installation, the artificial turf does not cover the drain so that water can flow from the gaps in the grass.
